Seven days of state mourning over the death of former President Pranab Mukherjee

The central government has declared seven days of state mourning for the death of former president Pranab Mukherjee on Monday. 

In a statement, the Home Ministry said that seven days of state mourning would be observed across India from August 31 to September 7 as a token of respect for the great man.

The statement said, "During state mourning, the national flag will be half-tilted on all regular flights across India.  There will be no official entertainment.

  The former president died on Monday at the Army Hospital in Delhi.  He was 84 at the time of his death.  On August 9, he fell in the bathroom and suffered a head injury.  Since then, the former President is undergoing treatment at the Army Hospital in Delhi.

केंद्र सरकार ने सोमवार को पूर्व राष्ट्रपति प्रणब मुखर्जी के निधन पर सात दिन के राजकीय शोक की घोषणा की है.

एक बयान में, गृह मंत्रालय ने कहा कि महापुरुष के सम्मान के लिए 31 अगस्त से 7 सितंबर तक सात दिनों का राजकीय शोक पूरे भारत में मनाया जाएगा.

बयान में कहा गया है, “राजकीय शोक के दौरान, पूरे भारत में सभी भवनों पर राष्ट्रीय ध्वज फहराया जाएगा, जहाँ इसे नियमित रूप से फहराया जाता है। कोई आधिकारिक मनोरंजन नहीं होगा.

 पूर्व राष्ट्रपति का सोमवार को दिल्ली के आर्मी अस्पताल में निधन हो गया। मृत्यु के समय वह 84 वर्ष के थे। 9 अगस्त को, वह बाथरूम में गिर गए और सिर में चोट लगी। तब से पूर्व राष्ट्रपति का दिल्ली के आर्मी अस्पताल में इलाज चल रहा हैहै.
